Endeavour is the name of two sailing yachts with which the British aircraft designer and racing sailor Sir Thomas Sopwith attempted to win the America’s Cup as challenger in 1934 and 1937. Endeavour and Endeavour II belonged to the J Class.
Endeavour was launched in 1934 and, after the competitions in which she was narrowly beaten by “Rainbow”, was laid up in 1938. Between 1984 and 1988 the remains were restored. Today the yacht belongs to an American.
