Earnslaw is a steamship built in 1912 that still operates on Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand. The ship is a tourist attraction and the only coal-fired passenger steamer in commercial operation in the Southern Hemisphere.
In the 2008 film “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, the ship appeared as an extra portraying an Amazon steamer. Four years later, the steamer’s commissioning marked its 100th anniversary, which was celebrated accordingly in October 2012.

This model was built 100% by hand and with precision using traditional frame construction with hull planking.
Exotic fine woods such as teak, mahogany, rosewood or mango are used, among others, resulting in a valuable and decorative premium model.
After completion, the hull is carefully sanded and, where intended, painted. The model is then coated with a protective clear varnish.
Ornaments and decorative details (e.g. cannons, portholes, anchors, dials and wheels …) are made of brass, chrome or other high-quality metals.
The sails are made of fabric or silk, the masts are made of wood, and the rigging is made of solid cotton threads. Some of these ropes have special knots that allow the ropes to be retensioned at any time.
