The Statsraad Lehmkuhl is a steel barque that was built in 1914 as the sail training ship “Großherzog Friedrich August” for the “Deutscher Schulschiff-Verein” at the Joh. C. Tecklenborg shipyard in Geestemünde.

As reparations after the First World War, the ship was first handed over to England and from there transferred to Norway, where it received its current name.

The Statsraad Lehmkuhl is known for its good stability in the water and can boast several international titles. To this day, the sailing ship, which is run by a foundation, successfully participates in numerous competitions under the Norwegian flag.
