The offered ship model is a complete and true-to-scale replica of the Titanic with lights.

This model was made 100% by hand with great precision.

Exotic fine woods such as teak, mahogany, rosewood or mango are used, resulting in a valuable and decorative premium model. After completion, the hull is carefully sanded and varnished. Finally, the model is coated with a protective clear varnish.

Ornaments and decorative details (e.g. cannons, portholes, anchors, dials and wheels …) are made of brass, chrome and other high-quality metals.

History

The RMS Titanic was a passenger ship of the British shipping company “White Star Line”. It was built in Belfast at the Harland & Wolff shipyard and, when it entered service on April 2, 1912, was the largest ship in the world.

On her maiden voyage, at around 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg side-on about 300 nautical miles southeast of Newfoundland and sank in the North Atlantic two hours and 40 minutes after the collision. Although more than two hours were available for evacuation, between 1,490 and 1,517 of the more than 2,200 people on board died, mainly because of the insufficient number of lifeboats and the crew’s inexperience in handling them.

Because of the high number of victims, the sinking of the Titanic is considered one of the greatest disasters in maritime history. On September 1, 1985, the wreck of the Titanic was discovered by Jean-Louis Michel and Robert Ballard during a search expedition. It lies at a depth of 3,803 meters.
